You know I’m a Transformational Beauty Photographer. If some of you out there are wondering what age group I work with, the answer is, there is no limit to ages. There is, however, other criteria to make sure that you are a good fit for this kind of “transformation” (and they are not related to weight or look or anything “superficial”, for lack of better word) . Come on, I’ve got standard!
So, how did I “transform” this zero-aged baby, you may ask? Well, you notice it’s not the usual newborn photography that you see on the internet? To me, a baby coming to this world is a divine thing. And I let the light “touch down” on the baby to give that feel. Is that what you feel?
The creative process is nothing when described in words. I got the baby and saw the stairs and decided to take a photograph there. Blah… All that wonderful chemistry going on in my heart (and brain) is hard to be drawn with words. But hey, all that stuff that’s bottled up in my heart is why my clients hire me, because I’m creative. 🙂
Look forward to continue “transforming” you, little girl!
P.S. Of course I know how to do the “usual newborn photography” that was mentioned above. I’m just not showing. 🙂
Any parents of a newborn baby would know how fast time swoops by in between the feeding-peeing-pooping-cleaning and feeding-peeing-pooping-and-cleaning-again kind of cycle. It was just 2 weeks ago when I photographed this little angel. Before the world had much chance to meet His Cuteness (as opposed to His Highness), he’s one (month young)!
Last night, I had a dream and Cooper was in it. Here’s what he told me in the dream:
“Me a happy baby. I like to check things out and I like to smile, a lot.”
“But it sure is boring work. It ain’t easy for my daddy to bring home bread everyday… Ahhh…get me out of this!”
“Nothing beats a good sleep after all that work. Dream, sweet dream…”
“They say I’m one month old. Woo hoo… I’m a big baby now. I want you all to know that I am dealing with some ‘growing pain’. But don’t worry, as I will soon learn, ‘no pain, no gain’. I will be OK ’cause I’m Cooper the Trooper.”
“You ask where’s my mommy? I hid her from you ’cause she’s myyyy mommy. Shhhh, don’t wake her up. Ever since I came around, she hasn’t slept 30 hours in a day.”
Jesus, Carol, your baby reads your Facebook posts?
Newborn babies enter this world in their own styles. Contrary to a polite hello that’s expected from an adult, we welcome a big loud cry.
While sleep deprived, new parents take time to have newborn photography taken to signify the beginning of a new life. I had such a pleasure to meet little Mr. Cooper.
What an angel he is. Lots of great images came out of our session and this one would be a nice introduction for him – a cry(ing) baby, with style. I assure you though that’s not all he did the whole session. I will be sharing some of the stunts that he pulled up in a later post. For now, say hello (or cry to, if you’d like) little Mr. Cooper!
As a photographer, I have long been thinking about a new format of product.
The idea came about because my clients keep telling me that, even though they have beautiful wall art pieces from a select few of the images that I produce from our photography sessions, they like ALL of the ones that I presented to them. So to create something beautiful and something that allows my clients to hold on to and to “show off” the nice portraits has been an obsession for me.
One day, an aha moment came and this slideshow show video was produced, using some sample images from a newborn photography session.
Now, would my mom (and dad) clients be even happier customers? 🙂

God knows how behind I am in posting my photo sessions. However, Valen’s mommy could not wait for me to finish processing all the images. So I am putting out some sneak peeks of the session while I finish with the rest.
Valen, a cute little guy entered this world, a little early. He was supposed to be the little valentine for his parents, on the oh-so famous “love day” (hence the name). Well, I can see why – he couldn’t hold off all the excitement that he will bring. Me, for sure, was one excited photographer and could not help but falling in love with this small bundle.
Now you see, at a tenderly young age of two and a half weeks, Valen shows you the many facets that a (newborn) baby could have:

P.S. You’d notice that I was playing with different tonal effects. And no matter what I chose, Valen continues to be such a good-looking little guy. 🙂
